In yet another initiative, as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 2X8 MVA, 33/ KV substations were inaugurated today at Dharmanagar & Kumarghat districts of North Tripura (21st August 2021) by the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma in the presence of Shri Biswa Bandhu Sen, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Bhabatosh Das, Zilla Sabhadipati, North Tripura, and Dr M S Kele, Managing Director, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited & Shri Debashish Sarkar, Director (Technical), TSECL.
Power Finance Corporation Limited, A Navratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, is the nodal agency for the implementation of the IPDS scheme.
The event was also attended by senior officials of PFC, TSECL, consumers and the media at large. The inauguration started with the presentation of a cultural song and dance by the local artists which was followed by a painting competition for school children on the theme ’75 Years of India’s Independence’ under the SoP of COVID 19 regulations. As a gesture of goodwill, PFC distributed cash prizes to the winning children.
The total Project cost of Dharmanagar is Rs 7.18 Cr. The total beneficiaries are 11287 whereas the total Project cost of the Kumarghat substation is Rs 7.09 Cr and it will impact 8897 people and their families.
While on one hand, the implementation of the projects will increase the revenue of the utility, on the other hand, the load shedding and AT&C losses will be reduced thereby benefiting the people of Tripura.
